whats the first thing you look for when starting to solve the puzzle?
force and king position
I usually look for forced mate. If there isn't one, I look for forks, skewers, removing defender, etc. Last thing I look for is if there are any traps. If I can't see any of these from the position (this often occurs with zugzwang, I'm horrible at these), then I just click the solve button.
