Should adjust the setup, as:
Black could have forced a draw with perpetual check.
Edit: nvm, u mentioned that.
In bullet - Queen :)
Does that mean you are voting for queen?
That's the thing about having a queen against rooks: either you win or it's a draw.
If anyone is interested in finding out: Set up the starting position with white having no rooks and black having no queen and have a chess program play it against itself. Result will almost certainly be draws and wins for the rooks.
Great idea. My engine is not working ATM, so can someone else do it?
Bump because I want some engine tournaments of this and I don't have the necessary hardware.
ATMs play chess now?
"Your current account balance is: $0.00." Shah mat!
Ok... this topic is getting a little old. It's about time we moved on to a more interesting discussion. So instead of continuing to continue about having 1 queen vs 2 rooks, go to this thread to discuss whether you prefer having 1 rook or 2 queens!
God job macer
lol... thanks! My thread is a lot more interesting than this one, huh?
real games must be posted.....
Did you count my vote Harry?
Normally the best the rooks will ever get is a draw, particularly at below the GM level but even at the GM level it's rare the two rooks are superior and it tends to be for tactical levels. Even super gms have stated that the queen is almost always better. At blitz chess at our level the queen is so much better it's a farce.
I would like to invite the above FM to some games, with him having two rooks and me with a queen and see who wins. I don't know about the starting position, but just a normal position midway through the game and we'll see who comes out on top.
