Um... I don't know for sure but great job seeing that!
Queen sac, was it good?
2...h5 has to be better than Kh8, allowing you to open the g file can't be good.
I don't think this is sound to be honest, although it's clear black struggles to get defenders over to the kingside.
after h5 i can take it with the bishop and push the pawn, or push the pawn right away, thats what he was worried about. perhaps it was better, his priority was not letting me open the file with tempo
as soon as he moved his knight to h6 i decided I was going to queen sac at some point since it was a fun game haha
yeah I think it can be defended, but in an OTB game it does not always have to be completly sound, just sound enough to win ;)
i think I would play it again (against an opponent under 1700 otb perhaps)

any ideas on how to solidify blacks position? or do you think h5 gets the job done?

True!
It may be sound (I can't find anything for Black), but there's not really a point in playing it. I mean White's already crushing regardless of the sac.
But good tactical vision, I wouldn't have seen that! (I have a mental block for giving up my queen unless it is for mate or material.)
1700 OTB? It seems a lot easier to defend to me than that. Might have missed something, I'm not using an engine.
What about 5 ... Rf6: 6. ef6: e5?
thats what we decided on last night as the easiest way to survive

i didnt say i would win, but i would try to play it, have to take risks ;)
maybe instead of pushing g6 right away, Ng4 for white?

as in it simplifies the position with black up in material even after giving up the rook since white loses his key attacking knight
maybe )g6,ph5,rf8,pxp,fpxp can keep black in the game
sorry I am not sure what move this starts on?

Has to be too slow.
After the sac black still had play, but there were a lot of tricky lines. after the game a group of us went over it and decided that it was strong enough to play at our level. perhaps it is not solid, but it was fun and good enough to win, and tricky enough that even if there is a way out the oppenent may not be able to find it, expecially under time pressure. In any case I wanted some comments on whether people thought the sac was a good idea, and how black could have better delt with it. I will likely share the post with the club next week
