i got a question for chess players i would love some feed back reguarding the question. it i a long statement but would like to say thanks in advance for reading....... its a new proposal for changing the league format for my local chess league, just wondering wat people views on it are.....Discussion DocumentLeague Structure Proposals for implementation season 2014/15The idea behind the changes is to give all the Clubs in the Association good competition whilst ensuring that Clubs have the resources to play ‘A’ Division fixtures as scheduled without defaults. Some of the changes here may impinge on others that we will need to discuss as well. The LeaguesThe Leagues will consist of a ‘A’, ‘B’ & ‘C’ DivisionsEvery constituent club affiliated to the CCA is permitted to enter 1 (one) team into the ‘A’ Division of the League providing that:1. The Club has at least 8 (eight) registered players at the season start2. The Average grading of the top 4 currently registered players must equal or be greater than 150 (see Note below).A Club may be permitted to enter subsequent teams into the ‘A’ Division provided that:1. The Management Committee are in agreement (but note that any subsequent teams so admitted cannot be removed without the Clubs agreement unless they fail to meet the other conditions prescribed below)2. The Club has a multiple membership of 8 (eight) players for each team in the same division at the season start3. The Average grading of each subsequent 4 currently registered players must equal or be greater than 150 as calculated above. The ‘B’ Division may consist of the following:1. Those Clubs whose first teams do not meet the requirements for the ‘A’ Division2. All Clubs second teams (excluding those in 1. above unless they meet the other requirements below) providing the Average grading of their top 4 players is equal to, or greater than 120, unless they also have a team entered in the ‘C’ Division.3. Clubs subsequent teams whose average grading of their subsequent 4 top players is within 10 grading points below the average grading of each other team collectively in the Division.4. The Club has a multiple membership of 8 (eight) players for each team in the same division at the season startThe ‘C’ Division will include all those teams not in the ‘A’ or ‘B’ Divisions.Note:· References to Average Grading will be calculated on the highest published grading of the last 3 published grading lists ie July current, Jan previous or July previous.· The Management Committee after consultation with individual Clubs, will have the final decision on the make up of the ‘B’ & ‘C’ divisions based upon these rules, entries & final league positions of the previous season.· Promotion & Relegation will now only apply in the following situation:1. . The Team that finishes as Champions of the ‘B’ Division will be permitted to play in the ‘A’ Division for the following season if it so wishes even if it does not meet the entry qualifications. However in order to remain in the ’A’ Division after the first season it has to meet the entry qualifications.2. The Team that finishes as Champions of the ‘C’ Division will be permitted to play in the ‘B’ Division for the following season if it so wishes even if it does not meet the entry qualifications. However in order to remain in the ’B’ Division after the first season it has to meet the entry qualifications3. Teams failing to meet the entry qualifications of their respective division at the end of a season have until the start of the following season to rectify the situation otherwise they will be relegated· All ‘A’ Division games must be played as scheduled in the fixture lists. Postponements will only be allowed for unforeseen events. All requests for postponements must be made to the League Organiser who will rule on the matter. The existing rules will still apply to the ‘B’ & ’C’ Divisions.· Players graded 120 or below may play for more than one team belonging to the same Club in the ‘A’ Division & players graded 100 or below may play for more than one team belonging to the same Club in the ‘B’ Division.
in our league atm we run 3 division, play your games over the season, the team who finishes top get promation n team who finishes last gets relegeted.
