I have an opponent about to lose on time... I would like to finish the game so I went to my settings and UNCHECKED the box "automatically claim victory if opponent loses on time" Does anyone know FOR A FACT how this  function works exactly?

    Thanks

i think the time stops altogether until he makes a move. Im fairly sure he doesnt even go into vacation or anything.

This auto claim button doesnt work in team games or tournaments where a win is automatically claimed on time no matter what this button says

There is a limit to the amount of time you can suspend a game. It used to be two months but seems to be 40 something days now.

See the last page of Current Games and look for non-vacation games.

Edit: Just checked the last page and the missing 60 days suspended games are back.

Ok, here's the deal with that setting. It works to extend games that your opponent is about to time out in, or has already timed out in, but with a couple exceptions. 1.) It does NOT apply to tournament/team match games. These games have other players involved, and its not fair for one person to extend the time of their opponent, and stretch out their tournament/ match. 2.) It only applies for 60 days. If after 60 days, your opponent has not moved, they are not likely to move again, so the game is ended automatically.
