How do I watch various blitz games in progress?

I have looked all around my options and can not find how to do this.

How rigorous are opening book lines on this site?

What are the leading chess chat sites on the internet besides this?

Well to answer your first question at least... Look under the "Games" tab in the live chess interface. Once there, select a game to watch and click on the "View" button next to it.

I did that and all it has are old finished games, not active ones.

For question 1 (which is all I can answer),

1. Log on into Live Chess.
2. Go to your Friends tab/Games tab where you can find people playing.
3. If it's the Games tab, you'll see pairs with each player on each side along with their ratings. At the rightmost, you'll see 'Watch'. Click on that and the game's there. (If it's the Friends tab then you see your friend's name, rating and 'Watch' or 'Play' at the rightmost depending on whether they're playing or not)

If it says the game you tried to watch isn't live anymore and it asks you to visit the archives, try another game.
