Ever had a game where you had a position where you could mate in 1, but then you move your piece ONE SQUARE LESS on accident, and then your opponent suddenly has a mate in two?

I think my mouse has problems.

So this was the game:

The "SUBMIT MOVE" button.  Don't leave home without it.  :-)  "Touch chess" = bad magic.

ah man that sucks...sometimes in live chess,I pick a piece to move it,regret it,and in my effort to put it back on the square it was,I totally forget on which square it was and put it on the wrong square!!really annoying!Yell

When that happens to me I'm always sure to drop it on a square that I know it can't possibly go on and it automatically jumps back to its original square.

Hmm... it's been a while since I played the last of my small handful of games in Live..  Is it always "touch" chess in there?

i had the same exact thing happen to me. I was moving my queen across the board ,but my finger slipped midway and i dropped her ( totally unprotected) right in front of a rook. Thus, i lost my queen and the game with a slip of the finger. I wish we could have a submit move button for live chess!

anyway, this was on regular correspondence chess- don't think anyone could make that mistake

because of this game and my frustration, i proceeded to lose my 43rd game against the same opponent (this was the 42nd), and lost 30 pts of rating in two games.

We've all been there. Hell, yesterday I botched a correspondence game because I didn't see a smothered mate. I wanted to kill myself. Yell

Wow...

You had one fatal mistake in this game, it was a big one, I don't know how you didn't see the thing...

Ree2 was stupid!

On move 26 instead of doubling up on the seventh rank, which is normally great, you missed a simple mate with re1!

Again, wow...

but then again, again, you are only rated 1400 so it might explain it.

What I like the best about this post is the constructive, non-judgmental tone.  You'd be awesome as a coach for a kids' chess team.

Perhaps you didn´t read it well, it was a slip of his mouse...
Even (?!) someone of 1400 can see the 26...Re1# =S
