Red vs. Green Live symbol?

I was just wondering if anybody knew what the difference between the red and green symbols that appear next to a user's name is. Thanks a lot.

It is how strong the connection is.

The red one means they are playing on Live Chess (a game on the live chess server, e.g. Blitz, Quick or Long). The green one means they are just logged on to the site.
