Running chess programs on Windows 7

I'm having trouble running chess programs on my Windows 7 operating system. It's Windows 7 Home, for 64-bit system.

I went to this link, http://support.microsoft.com/KB/976264 and it showed a list containing compatability updates for many games. I checked and saw that the cd I wanted to run was in the list (chess tactics art 3.0) and went down to the download section. I chose the download for Windows 7 64 bit version. I downloaded the update and when I ran it, it said the update is not applicable to my computer. I tried downloading the other Windows 7 download and that one didn't work either. So I don't know where to go from here.

I changed to Google Chrome or Firefox, they are excellent for this site. Good Luck.

I run Fritz 12 and ChessBase 8 on Windows 7, 64 bit. Did you get CD-ART to work? I think there is a CD-Art 4.0, but I may be mistaken.

    How about a correspondence game?

Right click on the icon to run the program on the DVD.  Select "Properties" to open a window.  Under the Compatibility tab in the little window that pops up, choose an older OS version (try Windows XP SP2) and see if it will run under that.
