Here is the site most people refer to for comparisons but it doesn't give concrete definitions of style:

One other cool thing about purchasing Deep Rybka 3 is that you get 3 engines for the price of one.  He bundles in Rybka 3 and then a Rybka 3 Dynamic and a Rybka 3 Human.  They have different styles of play and analysis (not all the time, but enought to be fun!)

I can't comment on how Rybka 3 will work in chessbase as I don't use chessbase products.  You might want to put a post on the rybka forum asking if anyone has had any experience with Deep Rybka 3 in Fritz 11 GUI.

So far so good running Rybka 3 in the Deep Fritz 11 GUI, using Perfect15 opening book it seems to play pretty much as well as in Aquarium i.e. it beats DeepFritz 11, Hiarcs 12.1MP and Deep Shredder 11 in Engine matches in similar fashion (Sorry I could'nt be more precise). Biggest difference is I use Jeroen Book in Aquarium and Perfect15 in Fritz GUI for Rybka, game play so far is very much the same however bear in mind this is just based on 20 or so Engine matches so far. No big speed difference evident so if there is one it's not a big issue so far.

Rybka 3 works fine in Chessbase as an analysis engine and fine using the Fritz interface as a stand alone playing program

Money mouthKerplow try 2.3.2a 32bit single cpu engine rated 3023 only Naum 4 32bit single cpu an Rybka 3 32bit single cpu rated 3093 are rated higher for most computers which still are made for 32 bit single cpu by the way Rybka 2.2n2p 32 bit is designed for one or more cpu s an on more than one is rated a bit higher than Rybka 2.3.2a 32bit an almost as high as a single cpu 32 bit Rybka 3.Not bad for free.

I am thinking of just biting the bullet and purchasing the Deep Rybka engine.... I am not hard up for money, so...

But I would really like to KNOW it's going to work properly (and fast) in my Deep Fritz 11 GUI.  I definitely don't want to pay $100 for a chess engine that goes 1/33rd of the speed I have now :p

I have heard about Rybka being built on a better "understanding" of chess, but I remain unconvinced of anything until I see something like an independant comparison.   I do know that with Deep Fritz 11, I still sometimes find positions that it analyses quite incorrectly until I hold it's hand and show it what it's missing, then all the numbers change and it gets it right.  When I do that and then return to the original position, all of a sudden it can see it.   I am hoping this won't happen with Deep Rybka 3.

Anyway, enough rambling from me.  Thanks for the link, I at least have a Rybka engine now, even if it is a little slow :p

Rybka is a fast searcher, must faster than Deep Fritz. Rybka counts nodes differently that is why you see a low number and thus thinks she's slow. Rybka is the fastest searcher there is.
