So I am challenged in certain areas(pertaining to computers, mainly using them proficiently).

I bought the rybka opening book.  But, all it shows are a bunch of moves and percentag of wins etc.  I was of the understanding that there was some verbal explanation.

Does this opening book just not contain any prose(It seems it should considering on the cover it shows a picture with verbal explanation).

Any help would be much appreciated

no erikido23, it doesn't contain any verbal explanation, it's basically a database with statistics. the data is still very valuable though, don't think it's no good. you can search chessbase for help on how to make good use of those data, or you can ask here.

I am not 100% sure but I thought that those books were really just for Rybka and it's users to use as an encyclopedia like the MCO(modern chess openings) book that Nick DeFirman used to do. The "Chess Openings Explained" book series I hear was good with overviews on all of the openings. But you just bought an engine opening book so you probably don't want to use anymore cash.

You might try to get your money back and get some books that explain the openings.
