Rybka is better. Even Rybka 3.0 can beat Fritz 11.

rybka's stronger.

Fritz has some nice training functions and a more user friendly interface I think.

I have Fritz 11 an its a good program.I have loaded Rybka 2.3 an rybka 2.2 Along with Rybka 2.1 all of which are free to download. So if i were you i would buy a older cheaper fritz 11 an load the free rybka engines.Fritz 12 i think is only about 20 points stonger than fritz 11 so i would go cheap an  save for rbka 4 when it comes out.

I've heard that fritz 12 has a really user friendly interface. If that is the case it could make it more tempting. I know someone that bought Fritz 11 last year and got a one year membership with play chess - you should look into this also. Get more bang for your buck. Shop around rather than just thinking about those two.

Money mouthAll rybka chess engines thru 2.2n2p are on one link for free download an as for 2.3 if you download the free PESHKA program it has the complete single cpu 2.3 rybka uci chess engine file.while you will find some of the free rybka chess engine downloads at this sites very good free download section the one i prefer is Zarkon Fischers free chess program online site.just go to zarkons free chess engine link an under rybka you find the download links.By the way peska itself is a good free download however the big bonus is it comes with the single cpu rybka 2.3 single cpu uci engine file as part of its program which can be transferd to other platforms i have it loaded on fritz 11 /arena/infinity chess/mayura chess board/Tarsarch/chess assistant light 7/All of which are free ecept for fritz 11.i also have loaded it on my older fritz 9 an fritz gm edition an fritz 7.You can also download a good free rybka opening book however on the fritz platforms i use the fritz books infinityCHESS comes with its on good opening books on arena i like the arena little book.Keep in mind rybka until the aquarium 3 all have to be loaded on platforms such as the ones listed above.when i got fritz 11 it came with a one tear free online play which next to icc ithink the best one to playonline. Now that fritz 12 is out i would check first before buying fritZ 11 it still comes with the one year online play.As for the free onside play i like fics using THE Babas 4.0 interface.Chess assistant club is also a very good on line free p:ay site.this site has a good online play site however on some computers depends on your solftware it bumps me off costing me won games so i wait for this site to change over to plat forms such as Babas for FICS>

There is no version named rybka 3.2

The latest version is rybka 3.

That 3.2 is actually the aquarium version which is only an interface .

You can get rybka with fritz interface from the chessbase shop.

That's what I recommend doing that aquarium thing is ugly.

i agree with this.  Rybka is definitely stronger, but the interface is very annoying

The newest version of Fritz (Fritz 12) has a newer interface but the engine only has about a +15/20 elo.
