Can anyone help me out? I want to know how to use te Scid vs pc email function to play with friends. It seems to be difficult, very difficult, but I hope one of you can help me out with this or at least has a link to a forum.

Wow, I looked at the documentation in Scid vs PC.  I agree, it seems way too difficult.

Instead, why not just send the entire game each time, to each of your opponents, and have them do the same?  You can each then copy and past the moves from the e-mail into most any decent chess software.

Example:  You send "1.e4" to John.

John receives "1.e4" in an e-mail from you and pastes the current game, consisting now of just one move, into his favorite chess program.  (WinBoard for example.)  John then makes his move on the board and then copies the pgn of game, now consisting of two moves, (one move each) into an e-mail message for you.  So you receive:  "1.e4 e5" for example.

You then copy and paste this into your favorite client and then jump to the end of the game, or page through all the moves one at a time, whatever you want.  You then decide upon your move and then make it on the board and then copy and paste the updated pgn into an e-mail message for John.  He then receives the reply:  "1.e4 e5 2.Nf3"

And so on and so on and so on. 

Each e-mail from each of you contains the entire game, so it's never necessary to save the game elsewhere, unless you want to.  Each e-mail takes just a moment to create, by cutting and pasting the moves from your favorite chess client to your e-mail program.

Scid might be but I don't use it.  I use the fork Scid vs PC, which is great.  Haven't had a problem with it.  Loads a database of 8 million plus games in just a few seconds.  Great automatic analysis features (batch mode), great search features.  It's become my second favorite client, after WinBoard.
