Spotting your mistakes

How come that 90% of the time you spot your mistake AFTER you hit submit move? It's always been like that for me, analyse through a game for 5 minutes, make your move, and right after you clicked submit move you notice you just made a big mistake.

Maybe it's just me going crazy though.

For me, it's because for five minutes I analyze a number of moves, then suddenly it hits me: "but of course! I can just play Nf4!" and then play that without further thought. Missing the simple one move tactic, of course...

This sound very familiar...Happens all the time with me, and hurt just a much every single time.
