stalemate 2

Check, check, check, ckeck, and finally when you think you re done for they surround you without a check and it is stale mate what a relieve for you and a shock for the other person. But it shouldn't go that far tht you are relieved of being in a poistion as stalemate. Instead try to avoid getting to that position and even if you do continue let the figh go on. It is better to lose with checkmate then to leave with resignatoin. So i would like you to tell me how can stalemate be avoided and how can many who are intrested overcome the power of stalemate. :) Surprised

In the endgame, I usually just make sure that the king can move if I am not putting him in check.

i have had loads of stalemates and the only way to avoid them as far as i can see is just make sure u check the board all the time ... analyse the position etc
