Just wondering who here on chess.com uses a submit button to play CC, and who plays 'touch move'

i confess i'm too nervous about 'mouse slips' to play touch move on the pc!

Me too.  I played a few games using the chess application for FaceBook, which has no 'Submit' button at all.  On at least two occasions, mousing errors nearly cost me a game.  Given the risk, I don't really see the point of 'touch' chess online.  It's not like the OTB rule about having to move a piece once you 'touch' (click) it is enforced...

on another matter, i'm also constantly battling myself about whether i should use the analysis board. It is useful, but in the long run, i think it wuold be beneficial to my OTB game to not use it. what do you guys think?

My view is that you should use it if you want to win in situations where your opponents have it at their disposal as well (i.e. here).  I think the key is not to get lazy.  Always use your visualization/imagination just as you would in an OTB situation first, relying on the AB only to 'check your work.'

MY personal superstition is that playing online (with or without the AB) encourages '2D' visualization and makes it harder for me to 'see' when I'm looking down (at an oblique angle) at a real 3D chessboard.  If that's not total BS, then I assume the only cure is to maintain a regular schedule of OTB games.

I can see where your coming from, but i suppose i believe that if you're a good chess player then something like this will not stop your talent from coming through
