I don't believe being good at chess makes you a genius. So she learned to play a game very well; that does not make her a genius in my book. I would make a much better soccer player than she would, even if she had equal or superior soccer skills. Does this make me a genius? No, this just means I have learned to play a game well. A soccer or basketball player with great field vision or court vision is not hailed as a genius, although this may take as much mental aptitude as playing chess well. Anyone can be taught to think a certain way. This does not make them more intelligent. A true genius, in my view, would be someone that can think in a way that no one has thought before. Edison was a genius. Einstein was a genius. Morphy was a genius.
