Wiktionary.com's word of the day is tabiya, defined as an arrangement of pieces in chess set up in a certain position from the beginning, as the players' style of play will inevitably lead to it. I was wondering if chess.com had a feature for unrated games, or possibly tournaments, where two players can agree on a starting position based on opening theory instead of playing the opening out. Is this possible?

There is, if you want to play a game with a certain opening already played, in your "online chess" screen the box that says "Play chess" has a "start new game" hit that and select show advanced options>>there you can select a pre-played opening position.
