My tactics trainer rating is about 100 points higher than my normal chess.com rating. This could mean a number of things: 1. That I make careless errors in my games but my tactics ability is better than my rating implies.

2. That the two ratings are on different scales. (In that someone whose game rating should be 100 points lower than the tactics rating conistently)

3. That my normal rating is going up more slowly than my tactics trainer rating has, which is quite possible since games are so slow and tactics problems come 10 a day.

Is anybody else in the same situation?  Any thoughts or other explanations?

Your tactics rating tells you how good you are at tactics puzzles. You know there is a tactic to look for so you can find it. In a real game you dont know if there is a tactic and also your positional knowledge may be much weaker than your tactics knowledge.

As am example my tactics rating is currently just under 1900 and hasn't levelled out yet (I have only been doing them about a week and I only get 10 per day). I know full well that my over the board rating is not 1900!

Currently, my TT-rating dropped to 400 under my chess-rating! I think I can't take the stress and can't find the time to analyse the board sufficiently, ending up missing something...
