Apparently someone closed their account and the forum with a similar name has disappeared.Frown

Post the forums you found 'best' on chess.com and a short summary of why you found it best.

I'll recreate the ones I had noted in the previous forum.  (if I can remember all of them).

below are numbered, only to allow tracking in a rapid fashion.  the one I like best is listed first, but all others are just numbered with no particular regard to 'best'.  Users beware, you may spend hours and hours on chess delights in these forum topics.   [you were warned.]

1. Batgirl's content is outstanding and can be readily found at: http://www.chess.com/members/view/batgirl

see content summary at:   http://blog.chess.com/batgirl/content-summary

widely recognized as the World expert on Morphy information, batgirl is a prolific and skilled chess writer.  if one browses in her material, one may easily spend an afternoon in fascination.

2.  Bill Wall, a wellknown and skilled player as well as a prolific writer with chess books in his past.  he has been known to 'wear batgirl out' with Morphy info - but frankly, I don't know which of them is the most knowledgeable on Morphy.   see content at:  http://www.chess.com/members/view/billwall

3.  A provider of chess database information a user can download and browse at leisure, Peter Lammaroux - - aka  -  ChessKia has previously posted many database files.  those were removed, but are still available if you message him and ask.

http://www.chess.com/members/view/chesskia   you will need a PGN file reader (available at chess.com downloads) to open the database information and browse the thousands of games and tactical shots included there.

4. Chess.com posts educational columns for those interested:  see http://www.chess.com/daily-columns.html   these very informative and useful tips articles are by many GMs, IMs, and others.

5.  Blunderprone and Streptomicin have posted many annotated games for user enjoyment.

many others have posted useful and educational chess games - with annotations and comments - but I don't have a complete listing.   I'm hoping other users will 'repost' their previous info from that other forum topic.

great listing by batgirl of forum topics she considers best:

Thanks. I don't have forum topics to post at this moment. I will try to think of something soon.

I think batgirl wins on Morphy information.  When batgirl said "Bill Wall tires me out," she was referring to the large numbers of chess articles I have written over the past 40 years (probably over 1,000).  She wrote, "I refer to the weight, the sheer mass, of his chess contributions, particularly on the internet."  I think batgirl does better research and goes deeper into historical issues from Paul Morphy to Lisa Lane.

restinpeace,

this article was intended to be a place to post reference urls to lead readers to the best blog posts or fact articles, games, game collections posted on chess.com - whereever they exist.  I didn't intend this forum to be a place to post games.  Rather have you post a url here and post your game on your profile.

thanks.

Playing 'Tactics Trainer', (1462, 13000 attemps- right now), go for the 2-1 for one deal.

Let say, your opponents bishop, just in front of his king, is aimed at your queen and visa versa- your bishop has targeted his queen and its your move..

Take his Bishop, placing him in check, then he takes your queen to get out of check. Then you take his Queen with your bishop..trading queens and gaining a bishop.

also use 'tactics trainer' as a warmup...
