Hi guys I was wondering how the language of chess (not the game) changes in different places in the world. By that I mean, what is a queen called in Russia, or a Bishop in India, or how do you say checkmate in japanese?. I hope you get the idea.
Since I speak Spanish, here is my input:
Chess = Ajedrez
King = Rey
Queen = Dama or Reyna
Bishop = Alfil
Knight = Caballo
Rook = Torre
Castle = Enroque
Check = Jake
Checkmate = Jakemate
en passant (from french) = en passant
Well, I hope we cover all languages
