Well..... Ive reached my upper limit in games... 40. But, Ive caught up and no one has moved.... which seems like..... days (actually a good part of a day). I am starting to suffer from chess withdraw. Part of me is pleeeading.... ""You call that a total...40?! You have been waiting for some one to move all day.... doesnt that tell you something? .......

...Add more games! Join another match.... punt! Do something."

Then.... my more reserved side chimes in....... when you get reeeally busy with school, you will not be able to keep up. The games you have will not be given their just due... and so..you will not play as well as you could and...you...will lose.

sigh

Yes chess can become very addictive ... i play chess on two other sites and earlier this year i was playing about 40-60 games on all three sites. I have since cut down and am now playing more manageble games!

Yes and also with live chess you run the risk of being cut off! I have just started five unrated chess games. That is another way to manage addiction plays load of unrates games then if you feel you are playing to many just resign the games ... i guess? if the position warrants that is

I don't think there is such a thing as "too much chess". Keep playing!

During the school year things can get real busy very quickly and stay that way for weeks. This can happen after a relatively long period of calm. This has lulled me into starting too many games only to find out that suddenly I just cant put the same amount of time into those games as before. Then of course Im in trouble.

This is one of the reasons why I became a paid member. I remember the days when my time would just get away from me..... I would log in and suddenly realize that 18 games had minutes left before timing out..... complete panic.

Now.... lol..... during a particularly busy stretch... Im constantly taking myself off of "vacation" mode.
