Interesting... Instead of throwing shit on each other, just think how talented an artist should be to create such a chess set! And that is what makes it the most expensive in the world! And only those people, who undestands art and it's value, can take that chess set right.

you never say the price, so it cannot be the most expensive, since it does not have a price. end of discussion ;)

thats the point. you CAN'T price stuff like that.

  ergo: "priceless"

Thank you Sakina, those are better pictures of the set I posted about earlier. I realise it's very gaudy, but somehow beautiful too (I love the elegance of the double-helix pillars). I'm sure it's not to everyone's taste, but hey! most of us could never afford it, anyway. Money mouth

Not trying to be a wise-ass, but the set on the initial post does nothing for me.  I'm sure the quality is outrageous, but I prefer the classic Staunton pieces such as the ivory set.  I'd prefer that deep redwood color (whatever it's called) over the black.  I'd be very pleased with a tripple weighted high quality plastic set with a good board (no mold lines, good felt, 4" King) and that's probably only $150 depending on the board.

My theory is that I need to play much better to justify a pricy set.  But I'm working very hard on the right to buy one!

You dare call other people "retard"?  You have the English skills of a chimpanzee and the mouth of a sewer. Take your problems elsewhere, you silly little boy.

p.s. Why don't you try some punctuation and prove that Daddy's tax dollars/Yen aren't totally wasted?

Hey Vlad Kram (aka Samuel Rhine), you seriously need to chill out or find another site cause that kind of abuse isn't appreciated on this site.

Checked out your page, you seem to have won 8 very suspicious games against SmithMorraGambit.. His real name is Sam aswell..

So, just to get this straight, Vlad won his first game after a move each, and because of the minimum move rule didn't get any rating for it. The next 6 games last 5/6 moves each of great similarity, and the last 4 games are exactly the same. The next game is an idiot mate and the last 2 games are actually against an opponent (it would appear). Their names are both Sam and they joined the site within 2 days of each other.

Yeah, I prefer Staunton design too, but, please, not plastic sets!Yell Something natural is a lot better! Statnov, do you know, by chance does "Emelyanov and Sons"  make Staunton chess sets ?

Albertta, yes, they make Stauton pieces, but not from plastic!!!!Wink

The "Samurai" set ( the initial post on the very top of the forum) is in oriental style, that is why its pieces are not Staunton. Those sets by "Emelyanov and sons" that are in classic style have Stauton pieces. But their Stauton pieces differ from the most similar Staunton ones that are popular. Well, people say they Like Stauton. Me too by the way. Not every Stauton though.  I personaly saw at least 16 similar Staunton "horses", (the knights) that are very similar but still - different.
