I noticed that the option to resign or offer a draw is available only when it is your opponent's turn to make a move.  Shouldn't this option be available when it is your move too?  Can someone explain the logic?

Hmm, for me I can offer a draw or resign while it is my move in my online games.

I've noticed the same thing.  But...... some of my opponents seem to have resigned or offered draws when it was their move.  So my suspicion is that this is somehow related to my browser, and some people do see the resign/draw buttons when it's their move. I'm running Firefox, maybe this is somehow what is causing it.  Is this true?  Anybody see these buttons when it's your move? What browser are you running?

Aha! I just figured it out.  I use NoScript to suppress JavaScript on most sites (but allow it for chess.com). But if I disable NoScript (allowing all scripts), then I do see the Resign/Draw button when it's my.  Apparently it's generated from some site other than chess.com when it's my move.

Thanks.  So its a problem with the browser and not chess.com.

That's right.  You're probably using NoScript (or some comparable program) to suppress dangerous scripting sites. That's what suppresses the draw/resign button when it's your turn.

very interesting! you should allow all *.chess.com since we use stuff like blog.chess.com and mail.chess.com and static.chess.com, etc.

Thanks.  I don't suppress any site deliberately but I guess that's what's happening.  Don't know enough to fix the problem so I'll just live with it.  It is not life threatening :-)

Actually, I may be wrong here.  If it's your move, the big "Submit Move" button just makes the Draw/Resign buttons move down so that you don't notice them unless you scroll the screen up. Even with NoScript in effect, I see them now, if I scroll.

Yes, you are right!  it was that simple, really!  I scrolled down and found the options on my turn too.
