The Pawn: The Pawn is often viewed as the weakest piece of the game. This is only a quater true. The Pawn is probaly the easiest piece to take and very slow moving along the board. However, the Pawn can be more valueable then the Queen! This happens at the end of the game, when there are not many pieces left. If the Pawn reachs the end of the board, you can exchange it in for a different piece. (Most oftenly used to get a Queen, since it is possible to have 2 Queens on the board). The pawns are also useful in the following diagram as shown... ( I forgot to mark it as Blacks move)
According to the post, it is blacks turn to move. Black plays Nf3 attacking the white queen and allowing time to move blacks own queen out of harms way. Maybe Qd5 to protect the Knight, this is a quick analysts there may be better moves.
1...Nf3 2.Qf2 Qd5 3.Bg2
1...Nf3 2.Qf2 Nxe4 3.Re1
The best for black is simple 1...Qd7 and saves both pieces
