Of all the chess games on record, which are elevated to be in the "Ten Best" category, in your opinion? And why?; (if you care to elaborate).

I don't think I have any of His games in my database - strong player, though?
Yeah, but Steinitz beat him in a match (I heard some of them were forfeits though).

I think there are at least 50 games on my Ten Best list, as my tastes and selection criteria don't remain static. Given the number of great games played over the years, picking the ten best is an ultimately futile project, but it does give us an excuse to remember a bunch of terrific chess games
Yeah, that's true.
One thing I found rather interesting recently was going through Chernev's Most Instructive Games and finding huge praise heaped on Bogoljubov-Reti Mahrisch-Ostrau 1923, which I thought was a pretty pedestrian affair actually.

I never knew they even had an affair. Who was the pedesrian?
(As I said, she was a pretty pedestrian.)
Andy, she looks young for someone from 1923? And where are the handsome male pedestrians?
Okay, no doubt about it...I'm gonna have to work a little harder on my hoaxes next time.
You promise?
