335394862: Well I had a thread on the go about 6 million which was in reply to a thread by someone who was upset by that number. Then a sort time later he got the heave-ho for some reason but my thread continued. Then after the member account total went past 6 million someone suggested a new thread for 7 million and here we are. 

Things keep moving forward ... 6.2 million now.

but only 11 days left until December 21... they better hurry!!

The other day I was reading thru an older thread that was started about 2 years back and mentioned the fact that Chess.com was nearing 2.5 million Member accounts at that time. Well at the pace things are increasing now it won't be long before that number is Tripled ( yes the progress continues ! ).

At this accelerating rate of increase, it won't be long before Chess.com's membership exceeds the planet's population!

If that happens then many people will have multiple accounts or some animals have accounts:)

The total has now reached 6.4 million. One thing that is for sure is that my guess is going to be way off. As I took July 1st for my guess I may have to use that date for 8 million Member accounts instead.
