One of my games is about to be won on time within the next 15 -20 min. Although he is a piece down, he is in a much stronger position.

I think he just forgot that he has little time left. I hate to win this way.

I suppose there is nothing to be done about it, I would like to gentleman ly reminded him somehow.

This is where an "Abort on timeout" option would be useful.

I just tried to go on vacation, but seemingly that will stop all my games. So no option. So that's it then. 5 min to go.

Frankly, now that the game is over, I'll say that I don't think your opponent has compensation for your extra piece. I wouldn't feel bad about winning this game.

Thanks. I think my King looks deceptively exposed compared to his.

If the guy walked away from a rated OTB game, you'd get the win so I wouldn't worry about that being "ungentlemanly." I'd say he is for forgetting your game.

Is this karma or what?

Just the day after I post this , I experienced a problem either with my cell phone service provider or my own 3G modem card but I got failed connection messages and could not play the whole Sunday.

I lost 6 , 24 hour games in a row on time out.

I will never judge a seemingly slow player or time out player again. I think I'll also play 3 day games just to be on the safe side.

Maybe I was a bit complacent, I was somewhat angry that I lost that game. It was my first loss on here. I spoke with gomaster about it and we're playing another game now. Here is the original game for those who would have liked to see it.

I'm just looking for a another opinion, what are some of your thoughts?

White has an extra piece. If I were black, I'd play a5 trying to open the a-file and send more pieces down the a-file than white can bring to that side of the board. But I wouldn't hold high hopes for this plan.
