Time limits

Why are players allowed to wait half an hour to move? I'm in the middle of a game and my opponent is keen on waiting me out after he blundered and lost his queen.

Well if it is on his clock that is the way the game works

I know ESPN did a study that showed peoples attention spans are getting shorter, so they cut there clips to something like 15 seconds.  Anything longer and people lose focus.  I really find it sad in chess that people are this way, knowing full well that chess is a thinking mans game. 

that's because some people are pricks. I agree with you. what I do when that happens to me is I'll just say screw the game, my rating, and whomever I'm playing and abort the game and start a new one. my rating on Chess.com doesn't pay my bills.
