How do you do it? I want to start doing this but I don't know how to make the best out of it. Sometimes when I try going over games I end up wanting to see "how will he get away with that move?!" and end up rushing to the end. I want to know how you do it!
First, how do you pick a game? Do you have a list of "recommended" games that you go over or do you just search for games by your favourite chess player and go over those no matter if said player wins loses or draws that game? Do you study games with different "themes" (bad bishop, tactics, king attacks, endgames et c)?
And once you have picked a game to study, then what? Do you cover up all the moves and try to figure out what move will be played next and what alternatives there are, or do you try to explain every move that is played AFTER it has been played et c? Do you write them(your explanations) down somewhere with variations and everything or do you just do them in your head like I usually do? Or are you really ambitious and verify your own analysis with computer help?
Please share :)

Hi.To analyse master's game - there is no game in particular that you can choose.Every chess games played contains errors, it's inevitable, when i analyse a master's game, i do it 2 times. 1 time for white, 1 time for black.
I try to see if the guy that lost could have won, and if the guy that won , could have won faster.
It asks practice and some basic chess knowledges and tactics - so it could be hard to do if you have no experience at all, but if you do it by yourself, and that after each move, you evaluate the situation and try to see trought the guy's tactics, it will be really benific to you.i don't analyse master's game too much by myself because i'm pretty new in the world of chess, i use premade analysises from youtube, with a guy that talks and think for you - it helps me a lot to analyse my own games, and to analyse master's game by myself. So here's the channels - they're the 2 best on youtube - you should learn a lot from these if you have not play chess for 5 years.
