Pr0 use of the English language

I think you mean "If anyone here is on twitter, give me a holla".

What's twitter all about anyway? Isn't that where celebrities tell you what time they went out for their lattes?

Borgqueen, "holla at me" was the correct part, in terms of ghetto authenticity anyway.

I really don't know what twitter is about.

I have a facebook and that is enough imo... if I was into all the social networking sites, I would have no time left to socialise.

indeed. i've lost more than a couple of friends and relatives to myspace over the years. All they do is go to random peoples pages and write "Hey, hit me back!" and place too-large pictures on their homepage that ruin the formatting of the comments of people writing "Hey, hit me back" in return.

I find that Twitter's exactly as good as the people (or blogs, or news services, or service providers - pretty darn well everything you can think of by now) you choose to follow.  And it's very minimalist when compared to Facebook or MySpace (there's still a MySpace, eh?).

One thing that's blown me away a few times is how much faster Twitterers (aka Tweeps) get breaking news.  I had to wait an hour for CNN to confirm that a passenger jet really did land in the Hudson...  And so on.

Anyways, I'm 'DeepGreene' on Twitter too.

... More to the point, if it's chess-tweeps ye be after, here's a list of some of my faves:

You might want to re-evaluate your stance there. The "civilians" were packing AK-47's and RPG's. There are more than enough places that give the entire video and provide freeze-frames of the weapons of the insurgents and the repeated inquiries to command and multiple confirmations involved in making the strike. The journalists were embedded with the terrorists so they knew in advance the risks they were taking in order to get the stories they were after.

Word!  And in the interest of non-controversy, I'm happy to withdraw the other comment to avoid drawing any of my own irrelevant interpretation of media coverage into the discussion.  My point was entirely about the lag between one medium and another.

If only everyone had such a spirit, forums would be so much friendlier ;)

Politics are poison to chess forums, in my opinion.
