    I've just come across an article in "The Guardian" which I wanted to share. It's about a very promising young Ugandan chess player who's reached a very good level despite her extremely poor background and not having access to chess books or the Internet ("awe-inspiring" says the Chess correspondent).

    I've personally seen way too many above average chess players living in poverty, it's strange how chess is considered the game for rich elites and politicans in the west but here the overwhelming majority of chess players are people living in poverty

    That is not true. In the west, chess players are mostly poor.
