Do you use the notes tab?

Especially when I'm playing more than 5 games I find it absolutely necessary to use the personal notes.

I write anything that I find important remembering about the game.

Here is an example of my notes in one of my games:

8...Bb7 is most popular.
also possible is 8...a6.
Idea of 8...Bb7 is later c5

9...a5 preventing 10.b4
I have to keep c5 possible or my Bb7 will be bad.

11...Bxb4? or axb4?

12...0-0:
list to do:
c5,

list to do:
0-0, Rfc8, c5

28...Ba6: exchange pieces, simplifying to a won ending.

after move 33: watch out for back rank mate!

Interesting, but I just take a look at the board without any notes. Usually I can spot what I planned to do pretty easily. if you only log on once every few days though it'd problably be mutch more useful.

Yes I find the notes tab very helpful especially with correspondence chess like this. It's easy to 'lose the thread' in games that you havent made a move in for a day or two, or if you have several games on the go.

Just blundered terribly developing my bishop while my knight was still under attack. I could have done with some notes, it's very frustrating to know you've lost the game so early on in the opening. Perhaps I'll manage to equalise.

I like to use it to help me slow down too. Often I will look at the board, and I'll throw a move or even a short line in there. Then I either walk away, or go on to another game. Then, when I eventually go back to that board again, I look at it as if it's a fresh look. If the move I come up with is the same one, I will make it, if it's different, I will add it to the list and start over.

Well, that is how I PLAN to do it, sometimes I just wanna move fast and just start clicking.... thats when I start making idiotic blunders.

i had a weird situation once where someone i was playing entered their notes into the 'chat' section accidently, allowing me to see their plan! Either that or they were being very generousLaughing
