How about we pit the U.S. against Russia in Vote Chess?
Good call.
Would it really make a difference, once you have more than a certain number of people? I know that means there's a lot more people to see a potentially good move, but there's also a lot more people to vote for a potentially bad move, and there are a lot more bad chess players than good chess players in 65,000 players as compared to 585 players.
How about this, as an experiment? USA v Russia - 65,000 v 585 (not taking into account the people that will choose not to play), and USA v Russia - 500 v 500. Maybe even two games of each setting, one USA v Russia, the other Russia v USA. That would see if there's any significant difference in ability if there's a larger group. Also, Russians are traditionally the best chess players in the world, right? :D I think this could be a lot of fun.
Already been done, except that it was USA and Australia so the game could be kept going 24-7.
USA would get its clock cleaned its avrg rating is going to be 1350 v 1700.
The highest rating doesn't really matter. After all, that's only one person among hundreds or thousands. The best they can do is suggest a move in the discussion board and hope enough other people vote for that move that the move is made.
I think Russia would win, seeing that the difference between the average rating is almost 200 points.
