So I'd have to make my own team. Then what?

Then you need to find another team that you want to play and issue a vote-chess challenge.

First of all you need to buy membership, only paying members can create groups.

1. Buy a membership at chess.com
2. Create your own group.
3. Get some members in your group by inviting people.
4. Find another team you want to challenge.
5. Issue a vote chess challenge to that team.

Step 3 is optional.
