So if I become a greeter, do I get to put some sort of limit on how many games I play in simultaneously?  Or does this mean that if I become a greeter I am innundated with games?

On your chess settings page, there is a box toward the bottom of the page where you put how many games you are willing to take on at any one time as a greeter. You decide how many you want to have.

I signed in. I want to have as much games as possible, but I've never heard of neither the 'Create seek' nor the 'Challenge <Place name here>' buttons.

Sunshiny wrote: I thought about this and if the idea of being able to choose a range is used, maybe the range should be split into 3 parts. Maybe there should be an under 1200, 1200-1600, and 1600+. This prevents newbies from requesting unavailable ratings and allows more greeters from having a chance to get selected.

I have just signed up...I hope to be a good greeter.

I like Sunshiny's idea. That way the newbies don't feel run over by a Mack truck ( they won't come back ! ) ...and on the other hand, the greeter shouldn't feel obliged to "hold back"( off putting for someone in 1800> playing <1000 ). Problem is that we don't know how many newbies to how many greeters - if we have a 100 newbies at say 1127 but most of the greeters want to play only > 1400.

If chess.com agrees to Sunshiny's idea - we need the newbies to know what 1200 is, 1200-1600 is, etc. - they maybe very new to the ratings.

Out of all of my newbies, only two have played chess elsewhere .. I know this as i've been told to "hurry up and move" by both of them LOL. My response was to let me know about how chess.com has live chess Laughing

I just signed up to be a greeter, so I'm doing it anyways, but I was wondering if we get any perks.  Like extra tactics trainer problems each day or something like that.  Or maybe a neat vest like the greeters at Wal-Mart! Laughing
