The Nanjing Pearl Spring tournament has begun.  Anand, Carlsen, Topalov, Wang Yue, Gashimov, and Bacrot are playing - all established 2700+ players.  Games start at 2:30 p.m. Nanjing time - which is 2:30 a.m. in New York.

Anand has a nice game vs. Wang.  I couldn't understand Carlsen allowing ...Nxb3 doubling his pawns and then 0-0-0, but his idea is becoming clearer now.  Black will find it difficult to break the pin on Nf6 without allowing the opening of the Kingside.
