Years ago (not telling you how many, look at my profile and work it out!) at secondary school I endured that humiliating experience of being caught out by Fool's Mate. Not a good advert for the school chess club, and what made it worse was that I was playing in an inter-house chess competition at the time!

Anybody else out there been a fool, or have you made any catastrophic blunders you would care to share? I won't tell anybody, honest!

By the way, we came last.

I was once in a blitz tiebreak for 1st. I hate blitz, and less than 20 moves into the game I made an illegal move (The rules were once you make an illegal move it's over). That was pretty bad..
