On my profile page there are "points", what are these?

Basically, they tally up your contributions to the site.

I think they are points for like if you help someone by giving them notes or posting forums and stuff like that I wish I had a lot 'cause I also kinda think they are like your chess online and live points give you status for how active you are!

Points on the profile show only how active a member is on the site... you get points everytime you post a blog, forum post, add a photo album, news article etc

You can't do anything with them, just shows others if you are an active member  :)
