Is chess a sport?Or is iot an art? Or a science. It has the struggle and competitive spirit of a sport. After all the goal is to win.It has the creativity and imaginative fantasy of art. Surely the objective is to produce something beautiful. And it possesses the logic and calculation of science. What do you think?

This has been covered countless times before. Chess is many things to many people. Some call it a sport, others an art, some a science, etc. I consider it a mind sport with a multitude of qualities that make it hard to define precisely.

Well it's obviously not a sport lol, I'd say out of them choices, it's more science.

Well I think it is possible to master it, although amazingly improbable, so that makes it a science.

Many things can be mastered but that doesn't make them science.

The Soviets considered chess sport. In any case it has sporting aspects--maybe this was enough for the Soviets?

For me, bowling is barely a sport (Used to average 190 so  I don't hate bowling--don't hate on me).
