I doubt it. People of many IQ's can win chess.com tournaments for trophies, and people who are geniuses may falter when it comes to chess. Skill has a direct relationship with trophies, I would think.
I was hoping for a somewhat more serious and thoughtful answer to my super cerebral question, beginning, perhaps, with a brief analysis of what is a chess.com trophy, exactly, and how, exactly, does one acquire one? I think when we can settle that matter we can begin to chip away at the correct answer.
So can we agree that the chess.com trpohies we are talking about are the ones used on the site, and specifically the achievement ones, such as ones won in a chess.com tournament? (Since we are explaining a possible link to IQ, I doubt the "have a taco" trophy that anyone can give out would count haha)
Au contraire, there are few meals smarter than tacos!
Oh I see, I was feeding a troll. Never mind.
No, no, I wasn't trying to troll you. I posted what I thought was a humorous post playing off the old long thread that asked if there's a relationship between chess itself and IQ. I thought people would find it funny because chess.com trophies are random and dorky and can be given out by anyone for any reason, and therefore there wasn't any relationship to IQ. Then this thread headed in an entirely different direction than I expected, and I was trying to nudge it back, not offend you. Sorry about that.
