what would be the result if morphy had played up against kasparov?

this thread just got a little bit crazy,

i'd read all your poems, but alas, i'm lazy

If Morphy had played Kasparov it would have proved the

malleability of the space-time continuum and humanity would still

be trying to make sense of the new development. Chess would be

used as a model - but found lacking due to its sequential turn-based nature.

"What man could defeat such a beast?"

Groaned Kaspy in utter defeat

"Incredible skill

That fish has the will !

Crushing all in it piscean teeth!"

these limmericks really bite...  they're supposed to rhyme.  and kasparov would destroy morphy, which would be a wonderful thing. lol

Limericks rhyme a,a,b,b,a

So please listen to what we say:

Post again in boring prose

And we may yet come to blows.

Debate no more; with rhymes we play.

My slothful friend, what will you do

When people ask you "Where were you?"

(In the time that chess.com

Became more fun than femidoms.)

So read the posts, don't be so blue.

[Man, this has turned to crap, I'm going to bed...]

If I give a penny for your thoughts, about who would win

you probably wouldn't want my two cents after then.

So I'll keep all three, saving for a time machine

to bring Paul here first, for theory to glean.

I'd pick up Gary and we'd go back 20 years,

when the chess world was his, before deep blue fears.

We'd find a quiet place to set up a match.

Could one game really settle our itchings to scratch?

To me, that would only be fair, no matter how they fared.

For how in one game could these greats be compared?

I'm not a betting man and I am not really sure who would win,

I would just like to see them play, but my time machine is broken.

I travel through time and space, quite backward, yet only forward.

It seems it should be a simple fix, yet my attempts are absurd.

Maybe instead, I should give away those three cents...

If you've come up short, just take one, the world could use less ignorance...

Oh where art thou my friend

Art thou busy with your nano engine that don't seem to blend

Praising it like an emblem

But ain't got a consistent system

Choosing a game as great as it take

Turning instead into a comedial bait

From serious to funny state

Yereslov

A poetic classic.

"

CAUGHT this morning morning’s minion, king-
dom of daylight’s dauphin, dapple-dawn-drawn Falcon, in his riding
Of the rolling level underneath him steady air, and striding
High there, how he rung upon the rein of a wimpling wing
In his ecstasy! then off, off forth on swing,         5
As a skate’s heel sweeps smooth on a bow-bend: the hurl and gliding
Rebuffed the big wind. My heart in hiding
Stirred for a bird,—the achieve of; the mastery of the thing!

Brute beauty and valour and act, oh, air, pride, plume, here
Buckle! AND the fire that breaks from thee then, a billion         10
Times told lovelier, more dangerous, O my chevalier!

No wonder of it: shéer plód makes plough down sillion
Shine, and blue-bleak embers, ah my dear,

Fall, gall themselves, and gash gold-vermillion."

-- Gerald Manley Hopkins

I felt like a real poem needed to be posted.

Okay.  You understand that we were posting limericks, not real poems.  Also we wrote them ourselves, not pasted in; they related to chess or the forum thread so far.  That was just irrelevant rubbish.  If I were you, Yereslov, I would stick to your regular trolling - at least it can be entertaining.

batgirl

Please define "real poem."

TL;DR.

You have a brain the size of a pea.

Copy: To follow as a model or pattern; imitate. See Synonyms at imitate.

This is the original poem in its original state. Do you see my name at the end of it?

He meant duplicate not, claim for yourself...

"In human-computer interaction, cut and paste and copy and paste are related commands that offer a user-interface interaction technique for transferring text, ..."  - this being a computer and that being the technique you used, COPY was the correct term.

He is an idiot either way.

You are trying to state what he thought. That's a fallacy. There is more than one definition for the term "copy", but I'm not going to get into an argument about this.

Morphy will win X when Y is the amount of games played.

Here_Is_Plenty

And I am pretty sure it's spelt phallusy.
