Haha well I'm not sure that he'd come up with answers to his question if he was googling "round ribon." I laughed!

edit: congratulations, OP, for being the first result upon a google search for "round ribon"

edit2:

Woah. From the wiki article: "The term round-robin is derived from the French term ruban, meaning "ribbon". Over a long period of time, the term was corrupted and idiomized to robin."

Essentially, you'd have 4-5 players put into a group and they'd play each other.  Much like the 1st round of the World Cup.

A round robin tournament is one in which all the competitors play each other , some call it an : all-play-all . A double round robin tournament is one in which each player plays 2 games against all the other competitors, one as white and one as black. These are usually closed and/or invitational events as they are not feasible for a tournament of many players.

It's like spin the bottle, except for that you got a fat (round) fella by the name of Robin, and you spin him, and the player he points to when he stops spinning, you gotta play, and/or kiss.
