When i was 3 or so my brother started to teach me chess and after that i have been trying for so long to bet him.

A mere stripling of 53 when I started playing , now 58 and still no use, oh well !

I started in about 5th grade, now am a ninth grader.  You just keep getting better, the more you play and the more you study!

We bought a cheap set when I was 8 or so. I played here or there and got routed every time until I got to college and started getting into books on tactics and strategy. Since I've gotten better (about 3 years ago) I play way more often.

hmm grade 4? yea.. around 6 years ago..
