When you see their name do you read the post right away?

There are a few members here that when they post I almost always click to see what they have written. For me it's Reb, Tonydal, Ozzie, batgirl, Richie and Oprah (lately absent)--they can be relied on for good info or humor or some kind of entertainment. Gonnosuke, when I have been in an analyzing mood, is a good read.

On the other end of the spectrum there are those who are so bad that I cannot look away. The OP of "If you know" was dedicated to getting a definiton of Strategy, parsed into noun and adjective and god knows what else, and have it repeated as if the answer never came. And this over the course of a few months.

So, anyone turn your dial?

Same people for me. Batgirl has posted on the forums every blue moon and I always take a look. Of course, I always read her articles anyway. Um, then there's Rael, Scarbiac, Beast, Erik, and Gonnosuke to name a few. There are a lot of "A quality" posters though.

I look for topic titles that may peak my interest rather than the actual contributor, but if I do see a name I know I might have a look to see what is being said.

Reb, TheGrobe, RainbowRising, Kupov, and ozzie.  Them fellers are usually good for a laugh or a head scratcher.

There must be a dozen "sub-elites" I almost always read. A few are mentioned above.

A nice little spate of bickering is amusing for me even if some hate it. For that reason I have a particular affection for RainbowRising and Kupov. Of course they offer more than just that but thank god for the trash talk lol. Reb can swing over into bickering part of the spectrum. He's my Renaissance man!

As far as I can tell, people just enjoy arguments over trifling issues. If I am to be crowned king of the forums, I must start fighting with people over nothing!!

Eureka!

What in life isn't trifling?

What issues on chess.com forums are considered not trifling?

Oh, I forgot one:  Ouachita.  I always read his posts if given the opportunity.  His arrogance is nearly as funny as the bickering of the red arses.  It's too bad that the post where he claimed to be a direct descendant of Charlemagne has mysteriously disappeared.

What an idiot to claim to be the direct descendant of Charlemagne.

I am the only living descendant of Charlemagne left, after all.

A similar suggestion came to me, involving chess.com titled players, but neither are great ideas... the main issue is people being hurt, both in the game and in their heads.
