It was in India last year, should be in Norway this year. Good job by Anand getting the rematch. I really didnt think he'd do well in the candidates.
Some place with modern plumbing, would be a good start.
USA USA USA
The last I heard, the deadline had passed and no bids for the venue was received. What is surprising is that they would establish a deadline before the completion of The Candidates. There is no big line of sponsors for the WCC, FIDE is hoping that anyone will step-up.
So not a single bid was prepared?
That must mean that chess must be really, really unpopular. Not a single person or group bothered to submit a claim to host the WCC?
Jeez, what kind of "sport" is this? I should send in my own proposal and see what happens. If I'm literally the only person in the world that cares enough to ask to host it, then the next WCC will be at my house in Miami.
When was the last time WCC took place in the USA? Kasparov - Anand?
CROATIA OF COURSE.WE ALL KNOW ABOUT RICH CHESS TRADITION ON BALKAN( EX YUGOSLAVIA).CROATIA IS ONE OF THAT COUTRIES.SO,DEFINITLY CROATIA.MAYBE IN DALMATIA-MEDITERAN AS ONCE IT WAS(BEATIFULL SOUTH PART) WOULD BE GREAT.
Slovenia would be better.
The OP is right, the correct answer is England.
It's just a question of where in England - I think all right-minded people believe it should be held in Ipswich.
I agree it should definitely be held in Ipswich.
Japan so they can both visit the Hello Kitty Museum and watch Hatsune Miku concerts ^_^
How about Antarctica? It never gets any attention ...
was thinking the same. must be a rodent-thing ...
The last time Norwegians went to Antartica you know what happened...
all that ends well ...
How about Philippines? Many Great names in chess went here and played here and find it brilliant. (just a suggestion).
My vote is for Kiribati. It looks beautiful, and they've never hosted a WCM.
Thank you for Enchancing my Geography.
