In my opinion black but sometimes when I'm playing I want to be white. I think it's who your playing with.

It sure depends on what type of player you are .. But I like the idea of playing both sides thinking there isn't a colour disadvantage

White has a tempo advantage, but with good play black can equalize.

I agree with staggerlee but I like white because you are dictating moves for black.

Well I guess we would have to look at some statistical analysis both with novice and advanced players put into the mix.  My guess or hypothesis is that white has won more times than black by some slight margin.  I also hypothesize that both white and black have had EXACTLY the same number of times getting a stalemate!

White normally, because I played my first chess game as white !

Why Black? In my opinion that just doesn't make sense. Do you not care for tempo?
