that depends...
Which is better: Castling Kingside (short) or Queenside (long)?
That really depends on how the board looks when you castle, doesnt it? Whichever side give you the best advantage for the game...
That also depends on the game when you choose to castle. It all a combination of choices. I dont think it was designed for anyone in mind since both sides have the decision when to castle....
When my opponent o-o-o i see red.
I say 90% i do no beat him....... i crush him. They have to move the Queen, Bishop and Knight which makes it easy to set up an attack just before the castle Queen side. Just do not make it too obvious.
Besides which, castling is practically like cheating. I mean, what if you tried to move two other pieces at the same time like that?
kingside castling ought to be changed, so that the rook goes to e1 and the Queen to f1, it's hard to dig a King that heads off alone for a kip.

Funny you should mention that.....
I know one site that had a serious bug, we called it the vanishing rooks and for good reason. Capture your opponents rook and lose your piece that was used to capture it. As they still had the option to capture and where the rook was lost as though it was never captured and the rook would re-appear and your piece lost.
Castling is never recommended in the first 3 moves. Besides that, any rules are worth nothing.
I dont think it is Possible to Castle in the First Three Moves...

I am probably the Sharpest Dull Person you'll ever Meet...
Personally, I think kingside is better because it doesn't leave a weak, unprotected pawn.
On the other hand, you can play Kb1, and it's protected, and the tempo lost there is often balanced by getting the rook to an open file in a single move.
