I'm still relatively new to chess, so I may be mistaken, but why not 1. Qg5? The only move for black I can find that will delay 2 Qxg7#  is 1...Bxf2+, but either 2.Kxf2 or 2.Rxf2 wins on the next move. 2...g7 doesn't work as a response because of 3. Ne7#, and 1...g7 also loses to 2.Ne7#. Just seems quicker to me. Please clear this up for me if I am wrong.
