Why can't I win???

Well, if you want to get better.

My advice is: Do not JUST play games.

Try to watch some videos about basic stuff like: fork, skewer, pins, "bad bishop",etc. The more you master these tactics, the more you will developp your intuition. Once you will master this, start to study some puzzles. That will teach you how to do some combinations with these tactics(witch is harder). Then, study some GM annotated games.

Don't focus on the openings, beginners that do that tend to only learn to memorize. Focus on the endgames. I hope that I helped you. Good luck in the black and white jungle!

I can see that you're making a lot of errors and got lucky at the end (assuming you were White) I would reccomend the following:

    1. Tactic Trainer

    2. Nunn's Puzzle Book

    3. And other good material related to tactics

P.S (She is not a computer)

I'll see what I can do in regards to those books.

Your advice is good but i reckon the OP should stick to just playing games and doing tactics trainer until he can tighten up on those blunders. then when he can do that he can learn chess tactics.

A recent game of mine against snake. I got his queen early and thought that I had won onward from that. But then the game tied me for using the same steps too many times. I didn't know that was a rule.

Here's my game against the blonde. She blew it with the usual strange Q moves and giving away too many free pawns.

I dominated her again today. She had two pawns and one rook. I had two rooks.

I checked her every turn but I couldn't mate her.

Is there a certain strategy to this? Everytime I moved my king to backup my rooks for the mate, the other rook would check me.
